The first visit will be different from typical visits, as we will need to gather information about you and your health history. Please arrive 10 minutes early for your appointment to complete the initial paperwork. If you would like to save time, you can print the health questionnaire and bring it with you to the first visit.

Health History

The visit will begin with a thorough review of your health history. Having a clear understanding of the various traumas, illnesses or symptoms you suffer or have suffered from will help us to better understand whether chiropractic care can help you. Your lifestyle, and the degree of physical, chemical and emotional stresses you experience or have experienced are all factors which will influence your body’s innate ability to heal itself.

Examination

Following the health history, we will perform an extensive physical examination. This will include a series of chiropractic, orthopedic and neurological tests designed to give us clearer idea of your current state of health/function.

These tests will include:

The purpose of these tests is to detect the presence of vertebral subluxations in your spine. Subluxations interfere with the function of the nervous system, disturbing communication between the brain and the rest of the body. Subluxations hinder your body’s innate ability to heal itself. If left unchecked, this interference typically worsens with time often taking the following path: dysfunction -> symptoms -> dis-ease -> disease.

The Chiropractic Adjustment

The chiropractic adjustment is a gentle, specific movement most often performed using the hands, and sometimes with specially designed instruments. The adjustments help the body by restoring proper movement, position and function to the joints. This allows your nervous system to function free from interference.
